Milestone
Before forming the Allman Brothers Band, several future members hone their craft elsewhere: Jaimoe tours as a backing drummer for R&B stars Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, and Joe Tex, and plays with future ABB bassist Lamar Williams in George Woods & the Sounds of Soul; Butch Trucks trains classically, playing tympani in the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, alongside stints in pre-ABB bands the Vikings and the 31st of February; Berry Oakley plays bass for Tommy Roe & the Roemans before forming the Second Coming with Dickey Betts.
